FAQs

What does “kind hair” mean?

“Kind beauty” or “kind hair,” to me, means kindness to yourself, the planet, and animals. I operate as sustainably as possible and I will never use products that are tested on animals or contain chemicals that may be harmful to you. This includes parabens and sulfates.

What are sulfates?

Sulfates are a chemical used as cleansing agent in some shampoos. The purpose of these sulfates is to create a lathering effect to remove oil and dirt. However, sulfates can cause drying and irritation of the skin/scalp, fading of color, and even hair loss.

What are parabens?

Parabens are a type of preservative mixed into hair care products to prevent the growth of bacteria and prolong shelf life. Unfortunately, parabens can mimic the activity of estrogen and may be linked to breast cancer and reproductive issues.

How are you eco-friendly?

I strive to incorporate eco-friendly products and methods into the salon whenever possible, including in my color line. You can find more about that here.

What does it mean to be cruelty-free?

Cruelty-free can actually mean different things to different people. In my practice, no products used are affiliated with animal testing and none of the ingredients in these products have weird animal byproducts.
